X448.  NSKK Wahlhilfsdienst 10. April 1938 Plebiscite Emergency Services Arm Shield.  This NSKK Wahlhilfsdienst 10. April 1938 "Ein Volk, ein Reich, ein Fuhrer!" Plebiscite Emergency Services Arm Shield was worn during the Plebiscite held in Austria on April 10, 1938 to confirm that country's union with Germany.  Austria's annexation by Germany is more commonly known as "The Anschluss" and a plebiscite was held to show that the people of Austria approved this annexation or political union.  I believe that over 98 percent of the Austrian voters approved the referendum.  At this time German troops were already in Austria, entering the country earlier in the year, on March 12th, on orders of Hitler.  This piece is made of silver/gray finished bakelite or plastic by Richard Sieper & Sohne of Ludenscheid, which was one of the few companies in Germany that did produce badges in this medium at that time.  This is only the second such shield I have owned.   The NSKK reference by Angolia and Littlejohn states that this piece is a vehicle plaque for election assistants but I believe this was most likely worn on an armband.  See pictures...$  195.00 (Pictures)

X860ci.  Large Anti-Semitic "Wilhelm -Gustloff - Straße, Landesgruppenleiter der N.S.D.A.P. Schweiz, am 4.2.1936 in Davos von Judenhand emordet" Third Reich Era Street Sign. Wilhelm Gustloff (January 30, 1895 - February 4, 1936) was the leader of the Swiss NSDAP/AO (the Nazi party organization for German citizens abroad); he founded the Swiss branch of the NSDAP/AO at Davos in 1932 Gustloff, who worked for the Swiss government as a meteorologist, joined the NSDAP in 1929 and put much effort in the distribution of the antisemitic book The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, to the point that members of the Swiss Jewish community sued the book's distributor, the Swiss NSDAP/AO, for libel.  Gustloff was shot and killed in 1936 by David Frankfurter, a Croatian Jewish student incensed by Gustloff's antisemitic activism.  Frankenfurter gave himself up immediately and was sentenced to life imprisonment, but was pardoned and exiled at the end of World War II.  Gustloff was given a state funeral in his birthplace of Schwerin in Mecklenburg with Adolf Hitler, Joseph Goebbels, Hermann Göring, Heinrich Himmler, Martin Bormann and Joachim von Ribbentrop in attendance.  Thousands of Hitlerjugend members lined the route.  His coffin, which was transported on a special train from Davos to Schwerin, made stops in Stuttgart, Würzburg, Erfurt, Halle, Magdeburg and Wittenberg.  His widow, mother and brother were present at the funeral and received personal condolences from Hitler.  Ernst Wilhelm Bohle was the first at Gustloff's funeral to recite a few lines in honour of the deceased.  Gustloff was made a Blutzeuge (martyr) of the Nazi cause and his murder later became part of the propaganda serving as pretext for the 1938 Kristallnacht pogrom.  His wife Hedwig (who had been Hitler's secretary) received from Hitler personally a monthly "honorary pay" (Ehrensold) of 400 Reichsmark.  The German cruise ship MV Wilhelm Gustloff was named after Gustloff by the Nazi regime; the ship was sunk in 1945 with the loss of over 9,000 lives.  This piece measures 8 3/4 by 39 1/4 inches (22 by 100cm) and is very likely the only surviving example.  See pictures...$  3950.00 (Pictures)

X1035.  Adolf Hitler Drink Tray.  Nice Adolf Hitler Drink Tray that looks like it was most likely meant for the carrying of drink and beer glasses.  The tray appears to have a nickel base with a silver plate being 14 inches in diameter and has an inch and a quarter raised rim to protect items from falling off of it.  At one lower area of the tray there is the open-winged political eagle which grasps an oak leaf wreath in its talons which contains an immobile swastika.  On either side of the wreath is the Führer’s monogram “AH” respectively.  On the other portion of the lower tray is the maker mark, “AWS” and then beneath that the word “Silwello”.  A key piece for the collector of AH monogrammed silver and tableware.  See pictures...$  2300.00 (Pictures)

X1052.  Butter Knife by Zeitner From Goering - Sonneman Wedding.  This utensil was made by the famous Zeitner firm, and features a cast-in-place silver eagle holding the swastika.  According to a listing at Mike Holverson's "The Marshall's Baton" this utensil could have been used at the wedding of Göring to Emmy Sonneman in 1935.  This is the suspicion, based upon a wedding goblet he has pictured on his website.  The goblet was purchased directly from Zeitner's daughter, and features both the Göring and Sonneman coat of arms.  The eagle on the goblet is identical to the eagle on this serving piece.  This item was recently purchased from the estate of a deceased veteran in the Anaheim area and then eventually obtained by German War Booty.  The images of the cup are provided courtesy of The Marshall's Baton, and the cup is not part of this listing.  21cm/ 8 1/2 inches long.  830 silver content.  See pictures...$  800.00 (Pictures)

This was likely done when the vehicle that this eagle was on (likely a postal bus) was requisitioned by the military.  I have seen these without paint as well as having different paint schemes, with some having the area around the swastika or the swastika itself simply painted.  This is a rare eagle and this style has been reproduced.  Study the details of this rare original so that you will not get fooled by a reproduction.  These eagles were used on trolley cars, locomotives, train doors as well as on buses and are rarer than the larger railway eagles.  See pictures...$  1500.00 (Pictures)

X1094.  Reichskanzlei (Reich Chancellery) Serving Tray by Wellner.  This piece measures about 15 1/2 inches in diameter and is round.  This example has the monogram of the Reich Chancellery.  It consists of the Party eagle with half-open wings clutching a wreath with immobile swastika.  On either side of the wreath respectively, is the monogram, "R.K." (Reich Kanzlei).  The base is maker-marked, "WELLNER / 67".  This piece is produced of nickel with a silver plate.  The "RK" service pieces are rarer than the "AH" types, as they were only used in the Chancellery.  This piece is in excellent condition for its age showing storage wear and was obtained by me from the vet's daughter.  An important and key piece if you are collecting "AH" or "RK" pieces from the Reich government table service.  I will provide the buyer the vet's name and info along with information on how he obtained this piece and a copy of his photo.  See pictures...$  2500.00 (Pictures)

X1291.  Cloth "Jude" Star of David - Sheet of 28 Pieces.  On September 1, 1941, Reinhard Heydrich decreed that all Jews over six years of age in the Reich, Alsace, Bohemia-Moravia and the German–annexed territory of western Poland (called the Warthegau), were to wear a yellow Star of David on their outer clothing in public at all times.  The word "Jew" was to be inscribed inside the star in German or the local language.  Similar local decrees had already been issued in occupied territories prior to that date.  This partial sheet of 28 stars was recently found by an associate where it sat in a collection here in New York and is the largest partial sheet that I have seen, as whatever sheets that were made were cut for the stars to be issued and then any surviving sheets could have been cut down for their stars to be distributed for collector interest.  The sheet is an interesting study as you can see how the stars were printed with the scissor cut guide lines from one star continuing to the next so as not to waste any cloth with this being a function of the design of the sheet.  I have seen individual stars selling in the thousand dollar range.  A sad and historic and important Holocaust artifact.  I have compared the stars on this piece to reference "Jude" stars that I have and have had and the cloth, print and design are a match.  No worries on the authenticity of this extreme historic rarity.  See pictures...$  18,500.00 (Pictures) JUST IN SOLD

X1309.  German "Deutsche Reichsbahn" Railroad Eagle by "PS".  Great looking German "Deutsche Reichsbahn" Railroad Eagle that went on either a locomotive or passenger car or even on a building.  This eagle is 23 3/4 inches in length and the "600" on the back represents the size.  This maker also had eagles with the size mark of "680".  I have seen these eagles in about 4 different sizes.  The detail on this eagle is crisp and superb.  The eagle is well marked on the reverse with the markings representing the maker, the place of manufacture and the metallic content of the piece.  This eagle was at one time mounted, most likely on a train and you can see where it was drilled at the reverse fittings where the screws were at one time applied to mount the piece.  The size of the eagle is 23 3/4 inches wide by 13 1/4 inches high, which are textbook measurements for this maker.  I have posted plenty of pictures of this example.  See pictures...
