Daggers & Swords

D113.  Third Reich Letter Opener Advertising Two NSDAP Newspapers.  Interesting Third Reich Letter Opener Advertising Two NSDAP Newspapers in the Schleswig-Holstein area.  This is an interesting and unusual item that has an early NSDAP eagle on both sides of the brass grip.  This piece has the same design on both brass grip plates.  See pictures...$  175.00 (Pictures)

D140.  US Model 1860 Field and Staff Officer's Sword.  I do not have a section for US Swords so I am putting this here.  This sword was made in Germany as it is marked "GERMANY" on the blade.  The blade is in rough shape as it has nicks all over one side and much graying, no-doubt some children used it while playing.  The knuckle-guard is bent upwards but this could be bent back.  This item makes a nice display and has interesting patriotic motifs.  See pictures...$  195.00 (Pictures)

D174.  Very Old German Dagger.  This Old German Dagger has no markings except "MADE IN GERMANY" so no-doubt it was intended for export.  I do not know what country it was exported to, probably a European nation as it came with some WW2 bring-backs.  The scabbard is leather and the fittings are brass.  I would date this piece prior to around the turn of the century and very likely earlier based on the style of construction.  This piece would make an interesting research project.  See pictures...$  250.00 (Pictures)

D188.   Utility Knife with "OVERHOFF & CIE" Advertising.  The firm of OVERHOFF & CIE of Ludenscheid was a major producer of SS belt buckles during the Third Reich era.  This piece dates to World War Two or earlier as it was an indirect vet-pickup.  This piece is maker marked on some of the blades.  This is a promotional item.  See pictures...$  95.00 (Pictures)

D256.  German National Hunting Association "DJ" Hirschfanger.  Great looking triple-engraved German National Hunting Association "DJ" Hirschfanger.  The blade on this example has some graying in one or two spots but rates at an excellent and the rest of the piece rates at a solid excellent plus.  The scabbard fittings are both marked "13".  This is a good looking example.  See pictures...$  1595.00 (Pictures)

D274.  Dove's Head Army Officer's Sword by "ALCOSO" with Knot.  Good looking Dove's Head Army Officer's Sword by "ALCOSO" with Knot.  The blade is maker marked.  The blade has some pimpling in areas.  I did not get a chance to clean the blade with metal polish but I think the blade will easily polish up to an excellent condition.  A solid example.  See pictures...$  550.00 (Pictures)

D286.  Dove's Head Army Officer's Sword by "ALCOSO".  Good looking Dove's Head Army Officer's Sword by "ALCOSO".  The blade is maker marked.  The blade has some pitting but is bright overall.  The scabbard on this example is an old repaint.  A solid example.  This sword is longer than usually as the wearer was a tall fellow.  See pictures...$  550.00 (Pictures)

D387.  Transitional Hitler Youth Knife by "RICH. ABR. HERDER. SOLINGEN" and "RZM M7/18 1938" with "Blut und Ehre!" Motto.  This Transitional Hitler Youth Knife by "RICH. ABR. HERDER. SOLINGEN" and "RZM M7/18 1938" with "Blut und Ehre!" Motto was never before in a collection.  The blade is bright but it does have some sharpening although I believe that with some simichrome metal polish and some TLC it will clean up beautifully.  The grip diamond is in excellent condition.  This piece has a great looking scabbard with the original paint.  A great looking example.  See pictures...$  475.00 (Pictures) JUST IN SOLD pending payment

D389.  Hitler Youth Knife by "RZM M7/2 1939" with "Blut und Ehre!" Motto.  This Hitler Youth Knife by "RZM M7/2 1939" with "Blut und Ehre!" D395c.  SS Miniature Dagger by "SS 807/36 RZM".  These SS Miniature Daggers by "SS 807/36 RZM" never came with scabbards.  The hilts are fairly crudely cast aluminum and the blade is maker etched with the SS RZM code.  This dagger is referenced on page 668 of Thomas T. Wittmann's "Exploring The Dress Daggers and Swords of the German SS".  Some collectors feel these may have been made after the war as these daggers do not have the superb detail as other miniature daggers have, but Thomas Johnson and Thomas Wittmann, two of the most respectable dagger authorities, have stated that these are original period items.  See pictures...$  495.00 (Pictures) JUST IN SOLD
