B1346.  Political Leader's Belt Buckle, 5cm Size for Brocade Belt, Variant with Wrap-Around-Oakleaves, Rare.  Good looking aluminum-based Political Leader's Belt Buckle being the hard to find 5cm size which is only worn on the Political Leader's Brocade Belt, not to be confused with the larger and common 5.7cm size that is worn on the leather belt with this example having an un-marked reverse being an in-direct vet-estate pickup. The keeper measures 5.2cm and the opening is 4.5cm and this example actually will not fit on a brocade belt as the opening in the keeper is a bit too small with the leaves wrapping all the way around the keeper causing the keeper to be thicker on the top and bottom.  This scarcer version of the brocade buckle size is shown on page 162 of the revised edition of the Angolia reference on Third Reich Buckles and may have only been produced in limited quantities. This buckle is also the scarcer version of the 5cm size in that it is not maker marked possibly being part of a trial run or the extra oakleaves may have some added significance as you will see this pattern keeper on the SA High Leader Buckle.
